sunday notes.... september 10th

outrageous faith: an incredible journey
hebrews 11:8-10
it was by faith that abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home & go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance.  he went without knowing where he was going & even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by FAITH -- for he was like a foreigner, living in tents.  and so did isaac + jacob, who inherited the same promise.  abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed & built by God.
two ways to live life...

1. live life by sight.
 -- 2 corinthians 5:7,17
    ... attitude [1 john 2:16]
    ... attraction
... addition -- what we take in the world + add to us [people can't tell who we belong to]
 -- exodus 14:11-12
... they had already experienced SO MANY miracles of God, but they were still living by sight.
 -- numbers 14:2-4, 22-24

2. live life by faith.
 -- 2 corinthians 4:18
... i don't have to be able to explain it to believe it.

living our lives by faith...

1. we accept God's call to go to places not knowing where we are going.
 -- leave your comfort zone!
-- FAITH JOURNEYS can include tithing, working in ministry areas, sharing our faith with others
 -- joshua 1:1-9
... where does God want to move you on your journey of faith??

2. we live by faith by trusting God's promises.
 -- genesis 12:1
    ... God made 7 promises
... when you trust in God's promises, you bless others.

3. we live by faith by obeying Him when He calls us.
--  hearing the promise is not enough.  we have to be willing to obey.
 -- we must immediately obey.
-- God wants to make us a blessing!

will you live by faith?

1.  are you willing to take the risk?
-- don't say yes just to appease God -- He doesn't want that.
 -- it's a journey & an adventure!
-- grow up + move forward for the Kingdom

2.  are you willing to do it now?
-- is Jesus really worth it?
... He's not looking for the "right" answer, He's looking for your life.

there are no half way commitments to God.  you're either sold out for Him or you're not.... Jesus didn't just half way die for us on the cross.
